Why Coaching?
Here at the Rotherham Golf Club Pro Shop, we’re passionate about helping you play better golf.
Every golfer enjoys the game more when they’re hitting good shots and playing well. This is our mission for you.
Think back to your last few rounds and try to pinpoint an area that cost you shots…
Maybe, you had too many three-putts as a result of poor distance control? Or did you miss too many fairways to the right meaning you had to chip out sideways? It could be that you play well in practice rounds with your friends but struggle to replicate that in competitions?
Through our experiences in the game and our PGA education, we appreciate that every golfer is different. That’s why we offer a range of lessons and packages to suit everyone.
Lessons will cover:
- Golf Fundamentals
- Swing Basics
- Short Game
- Long Game
- Course Management

Gregg Roberts - PGA Professional
Gregg has 37 years experience in the industry having started out as an Assistant professional in 1987. After becoming a fully qualified PGA professional in 1990 Gregg went on to become the head Professional at Heworth Golf Club in York, moving onto Dore & Totley Golf Club in Sheffield, before returning to the club he was a member at as a Junior, Rotherham Golf Club. Gregg retired as the Head Professional at Rotherham in early 2023 to spend more time with his family and strike a better work life balance. But when the opportunity arose to return to his home club to form part of the Professional team on a part time basis in September 2024, it was an opportunity he couldn't refuse. "Rotherham Golf Club is a special club with many fond memories going right back to my Junior days there in the 80's. When I was asked if I would come back and help form part of the new Professional team I couldn't say no. The team Rotherham have assembled covers many years of experience, with all the necessary skills covered to form a formidable team, I am really looking forward to meeting back up with the members and helping to deliver industry leading levels of customer service"
